Total-Project Cost Input Guide

A budget-input worksheet that separates hardware from the site, integration, logistics, commissioning, and lifecycle inputs that shape project cost.

How to use it: copy the prompts into the project brief, record the source and owner for every answer, and leave unknowns open. Do not substitute assumptions for manufacturer data, code review, or field verification.

Equipment scope

  • □ List lane families, quantities, finishes, barriers, readers, pedestals, guardrails, canopies, and accessible gates.
  • □ Separate base equipment, options, spares, freight, tax, and escalation assumptions.
  • □ Record quote date, validity window, currency, destination, and source document.

Site and integration scope

  • □ Capture demolition, slab/foundation, anchoring, trenching, patching, power, network, fire alarm, and access-control labor.
  • □ Assign responsibility for cabling, panels, credentials, software licenses, API work, testing, permits, and inspections.
  • □ Capture delivery access, storage, rigging, lifts, badging, prevailing wage, work hours, and travel.

Lifecycle and uncertainty

  • □ Estimate commissioning, training, preventive maintenance, consumables, software renewal, warranty extensions, and response coverage.
  • □ Create allowances for unverified conditions rather than presenting false precision.
  • □ Compare bids on the same scope and keep excluded items visible.
