Heritage
FAAC was founded in 1965 by Giuseppe Manini, a Bologna-based entrepreneur who invented a rudimentary hydraulic gate-automation mechanism. That improvised device evolved into FAAC's signature oleodynamic (hydraulic) actuator technology, which entered mass production in 1970. FAAC expanded internationally beginning in the late 1970s and has since grown through more than 20 acquisitions into a global group of over 50 companies.
Manufacturing
FAAC operates eight main manufacturing facilities concentrated in Europe — primarily in Italy, Germany, and Spain — with additional production capacity in the Americas and APAC. Products are engineered in Bologna and manufactured to industrial quality standards, with hydraulic and electronic R&D teams based in Italy.
