About Magnetic AutoControl
Founded in Switzerland in 1946 and now operating as Magnetic Autocontrol GmbH from Schopfheim, Germany, the company is recognized as a technology leader in both vehicle-barrier and pedestrian-gate access control. Magnetic develops its drive, control, and software technology in-house — from electromechanical barrier drives to optical-sensor pedestrian gates — giving it an unusually deep command of the full access-control stack. As a FAAC Group subsidiary since 2012, Magnetic benefits from a global distribution and service network while retaining its dedicated German engineering center.
Heritage
Magnetic Elektromotoren AG was established in Liestal, Switzerland in 1946 as an electromechanical motor company. The firm entered the vehicle-access market in 1974 with its first parking barrier and expanded into pedestrian entrance control in 1996 with its first systematic gate systems. A 1998 corporate restructuring separated the access-control division into Magnetic Autocontrol GmbH, relocating headquarters to Schopfheim, Germany. The company was acquired by CRH plc in 2003 and subsequently joined the FAAC Group in 2012.
Manufacturing
Magnetic Autocontrol designs and manufactures its vehicle barriers, pedestrian gates, and terminal systems at its Schopfheim, Germany production facility. Drive mechanisms and control electronics are engineered in-house, supporting custom configurations for parking, airport, and high-security applications. The company maintains regional support operations in the United States, Australia, Malaysia, China, India, and Brazil.
